The Art of Stillness
Tuesday 10/11-15/12 19:30-21:00
A 6-week Meditation Course online
Meditation is both the simplest thing in the world. And at the same time the hardest. It's our natural state of being (or so they say), all the while it's so challenging and counter-intuitive.
*
Most of us look for lasting peace, happiness and satisfaction in things that are changing, unstable, volatile.
We know (deep inside) that we can't buy, date or achieve any of those things, but it somehow doesn't stop us from making futile attempts.
*
In this course we'll try to explore what the Sanskrit/Pali word Samadhi really means. It often gets translated "concentration" but as usually is the case with words from those ancient languages, it has a much broader meaning. Calm, collected, relaxed, present, rather than tense and strained.
*
In this course we'll focus on what feels good, what's pleasant and sweet.
In addition to seated meditation, we'll do a little bit of movement each week 15-20 minutes as well as some breathing exercises.
*
In between the sessions, there will be some brief readings or videos to watch.
You'd also be expected to meditate daily(ish) for the duration of this course.
*
Open to all levels of experience, although some meditation experience would be preferred.
Price:€80 or €60 for Substack paid subscribers
includes recordings of all sessions if you need to miss one.
Course goes ahead if there's at least 5 participants.
