Let's talk: Flow states, Samadhi, Awakening, Jhanas, Manifesting, Vipassana VS mindfulness, Vedana & much more

​​​Have you been meditating for awhile? Do you have (or have you had) a daily(ish) practice? Are you curious about the variety of ways one can meditate, and where the different paths might lead you?  

Do you feel intrigued by more esoteric topics such as siddhis (extrordinary powers), jhanas (meditative states of absorption)?

Maybe you feel slightly unsure about what concentration means? Like, are there different ways to do it?

And what about mindfulness and meditation, are they the same thing? (Nope)

And is there a difference between mindfulness and Vipassana? (Yup)

We'll also delve into sticky topics like attainments, progressing on the path, enlightenment and awakening.

 

This course goes beyond the basics, blending discussions, guided practices, and theoretical insights from diverse traditions such as yoga, Buddhism, neuroscience, and psychology.

Each week we'll explore a different topic, do a practice that might take us closer to an understanding of it, as well as discuss what has been said about it in various schools and lineages.

* Unpack the nature of vedana (feeling tone) and its role in shaping perception.
* Explore the meditative absorptions known as jhanas and how to cultivate these profound states.
* Investigate the parallels between flow states and meditative absorption.
* Delve into samadhi, the art of unified concentration, and perhaps find that it's not exactly what we thought it was

* Learn about Vipassana and the ways to practice it

* What is the difference between emptiness and oneness?
 
This course balances theory and practice. Each session will include experiential meditation, an opportunity to share and discuss your insights, as well as teachings on the topics at hand.

We will do a little bit of mindful movement and some breathing exercises this week, but don't expect a yoga class, to flow or to sweat.
